We arrived to Venice in the afternoon. John, our bus driver dropped us at the dock and we took the boat taxi toward out hotel. We took about 30 minute’s boat ride. We finally get to see the marvelous city on water. We headed to our hotel through an alley crowed with people, shops and restaurants mainly drawn by the souvenir and the detailed masks.

The Gondola ride after dinner with the group was very relaxing. We were accompanied with an outstanding singer for the group as we maneuver through the canals. After the gondola ride we went back to the San Marco plaza to enjoy the classical performances around the restaurants while we are enjoying our first taste of gelato.

Here is where the mask obsession started for Eden. Those masks were designed carefully with love and tender. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to learn and see how they form the face of the mask and the different designs from a true mask master. He explained the different types of masks have different stories behind each character. They were well thought out and designed to fit the story.
St. mark's Basilica. During certain time of the day, the inside of the church lights up, upon the gold mosaics dome.
Rest of the day was without the group.
We have decided to visit the black Madonna; unfortunately we were not
able to see her since she comes out on the holiday in November. I guess good
reason to go back in the future. However, we had a great experience at Santa Maria Della Salute, where we were given
mirror to see the ceiling without tilting out head up.
Later, we took the boat taxi around the grand canal for about 2 hours enjoying the water and the surrounding view and returned back to the Piazza San Marco, and had dinner around the area, which we had a great pasta associated with humorous story, Eden was yelled at in Italian for eating most of the parmesan cheese. (Another good time..... hahahahahaha.......)

Again it was time to say goodbye to another great city. We must say the engineering and architecture
was extraordinary.
