r e l a x i n gDAY 6-8
We just arrived to Switzerland from Beanue. First thing we have noticed was people were base jumping from we guess, from the swiss alps? around the area? However it was very beautiful nice weather, relaxing breeze and most of all nice people.
So our bus dropped us at the train station to go to hotel Falken in Wengen, Which it was 4180 ft/1270 m. above sea level.
Here we are going up the hill to hotel Falken. Our luggage were transported with small trucks. Glad they had those trucks, because Seng would have carried our luggage. We arrived to our hotel room, changed and went down stairs for a great dinner with the group. Great thing about this room ....NO TV!!! No distraction just open the windows and listen to the cowbells. Very refreshing .
Our guide, Dimitri demonstrating how to dip the bread in the cheese fondue. The secret was not to drop the bread, otherwise you would have to kiss the person behind you.
First night dinner at the hotel. It was delicious. Rested and relaxed the rest of the night at the hotel lobby.
After dinner we gathered with the group and introduced our assigned buddies.
We took the gondola lift up and now we are up on top and let the hike begin.
The beautiful view was just amazing, filled with crisp air and sounds of the cowbells. We were told that the shepherds knows each cow by the sounds of their cowbell. Its fascinating. How they can differentiate one from another. We hiked up, took a break sat and enjoyed the magnificent view. And after that we had to hiked back down. |
After hiking and viewing the famous Swiss peaks (Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau) it was so exciting that Eden, forgot to put on sunscreen. Yes she was slightly over tanned. (LOL )...."good times"...... Afterwards, we treated ourselves to some good sausages but we were so hungry and did not even think about taking a picture of one of the best meal we had in Switzerland. |
Afterwards the group went to get some dessert and drinks. We had a black forest cake mixed with liquor. While we were sitting and enjoying the view, guess who we ran into?!...... Le Courbusier, one of Eden's favorite architect of all times. it was her pleasure to meet him on the Swiss Franc.
Trummelbach Fall was our next adventure after the dessert. It was very impressive. There was a choice to walk up the falls or take the elevator. We went up the elevator to the falls and went through different pockets to view the waterfall and walked down to the bottom. |
It was time to say bye to Switzerland and venture towards Munich. One of the best things about this trip is that we always stop to see interesting scenic views along the way. We must say this was one of our favorites view. (left)
After Switzerland, we stopped by a small town in Bavaria (right) for lunch. We stroll around and enjoy the little town, great food, beer and people. Walked around the water front. Enjoyed the peace and quiet with the locals. |
